Zuna Island Escape is a freehold property with beach frontage, covering 4,050 sqm (1 acre). The property is serviced by reliable mobile phone and internet coverage and is totally off-the-grid, with all electricity and water requirements met by recently installed on-site infrastructure.


Located to the east of Muralag (Prince of Wales) Island, Zuna Island is one of the inner islands of the at least 274 islands of the Torres Strait. Zuna is accessible by air and water from Thursday Island and Horn Island. Approximate travel times are:

·       20 minutes by motor boat;
·       8 minutes by helicopter.

Flights depart to nearby Horn Island twice daily from Cairns, with a flight duration of 1 hour 40 minutes. Regular ferry transfers are available between Horn to Thursday Island, the administrative centre of the Torres Strait.



Zuna Island Escape combines all the comforts of mainland living with the delights of island life.

The air-conditioned main residence (the Cottage) contains a modern kitchen and bathroom, spacious lounge and deck, and a master bedroom on the mezzanine level. The neighbouring guest quarters (the Bungalow) provides accommodation for up to 8 people, a spacious patio with outdoor cooking facilities. The Cottage and the Bungalow are both fully furnished and ready for immediate arrival.


Zuna Island has direct and unfettered access to world class recreational boating and fishing grounds. Take a tour with a local tour companies, or explore the islands at your own leisure. Snorkelling and diving reveals an amazing array of sea life, from sting rays to dugong to turtles.
